There’s merit in XMMS for sure. I always wanted to make a KDE wrapper for libxmms. Some simple playlist application that used the rather great and bug-free xmms audio system.
I always meant to make an xmms-engine for amaroK too.
Try searching for “Sex” and “Porno” and have a look at the Regions/Languages. I do not think the “several approximations” Google is computing should actually tell us something, I think they are completely wrong. Peru does not even have enough people and broadband connections to even appear in that list, and they are #1 on “Porno”!

GNOME & KDE is also interesting
What is surprising is that people keeps using xmms and not beep-media-player and such…
There is still no amaroK equivalent to xmms-crossfade for gapless playback. The xine output engine comes close, but still gets it audiably wrong.
XMMS just keeps it simple… That rulz

I meant to do a lot of things, sob.
mplayer vs. xine
superkaramba vs gdesklets
It seems I have some work to do.
debian, ubuntu, redhat, suse
xfree86, xorg
Sometimes, the trends don’t reflect any kind of judgement.
For example, see:
War vs Peace
Despite the result, guess what is the best?
When confronted with data or results, we should always spend some time trying to determine which conclusions are most appropriate.
It’s not that people want war more than they want peace. It’s just that it is more interesting to read about.
Not to mention there’s more written about war than peace…

This one is fascinating.
Isn’t data beautiful, ooooh.

enGuillem! May 25th, 2006 at 16:20This one is interesting, too, (at least for those of us who are a little older…)
XMMS is better for heir simple and low RAM consumption.
But run Amarok one time at month we’ll organize our music library, thats ok

amarok, xmms, itunes
It is interesting that iTunes dwarfs us, and that in Warsaw, Poland, we’re all about as popular as each other
