Software patents destroying innovation
Here we can read how software patents are beginning to hinder the charitable efforts of open source developers around the world. Apparently that’s the point in patents nowadays, to hold back humanity, to increase the wealth of those who are only interested in wealth.
As a commercial software developer and an open source software developer I have to say, it sickens me, and it definately scares me out of innovating in the software space or even working in the software industry. There’s no way in hell I want to take risks in an industry where I might be sued for implementing 1-click purchase buttons, or double-click listviews. So for now I’ll just be employed by someone else to write code, and my many entrepreneurial ideas and dreams will languish at the back of my mind.
Software industry: grow up you fucktards, the industry has done amazingly well without software patents, admit it.
Why do people have so little confidence in their ideas that they think monopoly and ownership are the only solutions? It sickens me, truely.
