Silent Hill 2 on Xbox 360 in the UK
Just doesn’t work?
I get sound, but no video. You can even press start 3 times and start the game! Just no video
I’m bitterly upset. Anyone any ideas about this?

I dunno, but you should play Overlord – it’s awesome and funny!
Seb Ruiz July 19th, 2007 at 2:06Yeah I’ll prolly get Overlord this weekend, depending on work. The demo was surprisingly fun
Max Howell July 21st, 2007 at 2:48Now, that’s the advantage of not playing at all… hooray.. I knew there is one…
:O
apachelogger July 30th, 2007 at 17:48gotta get back to work actually
i have the same problem, but i live in australia and i just brought it from eb and there is sound but no video? HELP. i love this game, they need to do a update
adam tarrant August 31st, 2007 at 9:46i just looked it up on xbox.com it says only the american version works atm? i doubt they will ever make the pal versions work though.
addsy August 31st, 2007 at 10:04I live in the United States and it doesn’t seem to want to load at all on my xbox 360. Before I replaced my old 360 due to 3 red lights issue, it did load and play. But there were texture and lighting issues that made the game unbearable to play.
Backwards compatibility on XBOX 360 is a pathetic joke.
Sam October 15th, 2007 at 7:42I live in UK, and have just installed the UK update that states it allows the game to work.
Andy January 21st, 2008 at 8:56Guess what,,,,,? STILL NO VIDEO !!!!!!
The UK, European and Australian PAL versions are all listed as working on ‘The List’, so why no video still?!
Madness.

B February 3rd, 2008 at 19:30Same here, I get the sound and awsome music but no video! Strange thing is when I put the disc in i saw an xbox logo and the 360 said “there’s an update for this game” so i updated and thought “yeeah it works! Well of course it didn’t….”
Efraim August 4th, 2008 at 18:51Hey I’m from Germany and I have the same problem
But I have ordered a RGB Cable for XBox 360 and I hope It will work then
Anna December 17th, 2008 at 19:14Let us know if the RGB cable trick works. I could get one of those easily enough.
Max Howell December 18th, 2008 at 12:27Did Microsoft ever get this to work in the UK?
GerryJo March 1st, 2009 at 8:58It doesnt work either. Huge giant sigh. Thats my scary night in ruined.
Luke April 5th, 2009 at 22:31For those of you who get the ‘black screen of death’ sadly I had to delete my saved game file from my HD, and THEN the game played. But, starting from the begining… urgh.
rob June 30th, 2009 at 3:35Since I have no Silent Hill 2 saves on my Xbox I couldn’t try this out.
Max Howell July 3rd, 2009 at 18:21I live in the Netherlands and have the same problem. Sound, but no video. I’ve just spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Xbox support, who had me changing cables and inputs, all to no avail. The guy on the other end of the line just wouldn’t believe there’s people all over the internet with the exact same problem as he “had never heard of something like this happening himself”… His next tip was to try it on a friend’s Xbox to see if it works and if it doesn’t, I probably have a faulty disc. To hell with that! How dare they call themselves ’support’?!
But I still haven’t found a conclusive solution anywhere. Read the ‘delete savegames’ option a couple of times, but I just got the game today, so I don’t even have any savegames. It plays fine on my classic Xbox, but I want to play it on my 360, dammit!
