Cigarette Smoke
Will the upcoming smoking ban reduce pub attendance? I actively seek no-smoking pubs. I drink at pubs daily. I eat at pubs every opportunity I get. I hate cigarette smoke. I find it rude when I am given the choice: breathe in other people’s smoke, or leave.
Roll on July, the no smoking ban, and getting home smelling of something other than other people’s acrid smoke.

I actively seek smoking pubs. It’s a cultural thing, socializing and smoking goes together.
Miiiguel January 30th, 2007 at 14:41While I’d agree smoking makes you more social at the office, or a party, because you end up meeting other smokers. It’s simply not true that smoking and socialising go together in pubs.
Max Howell January 30th, 2007 at 15:02All the smoke is my least favorite thing about Europe.
My hometown (Columbia, Missouri) recently had a smoking ban and apparently the hickville where I live now (Kirksvile, Missouri) may follow suit which will surprise me. Of course, it surprises me that the UK and Ireland has banned smoking in public.
I read today that the EU may ban smoking in public. This would be great.
Ian Monroe January 30th, 2007 at 22:58Fool. If you dont like the cigarette smoke in pubs then dont go…When you go to a pub you should be expecting smokers to be there. Sure its not nice if you dont smoke..but hey, thats what pubs are for..smoking, drinking and socialising.
Willhelmet April 27th, 2007 at 11:35Its one of the longest running “traditions” on earth if youre that bothered sit indoors and cry all your life.
Actually pubs are for socialising. Anti-social wankers like you shouldn’t be welcome in them.
Max Howell April 27th, 2007 at 14:50I did say “smoking, drinking and socialising” = you fail.
Willhelmet May 31st, 2007 at 11:49I understood what you said, I just disagree that smoking is any part of what pubs are for. Most people agree with me. Enjoy being the minority.
Max Howell June 1st, 2007 at 14:47Dam, i just wrote a frickin essay, and because i didnt write “no” in the spam bot field i lost it all
Anyway, im off to the pub because it took me 30 minutes to write that and now its gone. Ciao!
Willhelmet June 6th, 2007 at 19:40What browser? As almost all browsers nowadays store the previous page’s input contents. In fact the only one I know that doesn’t is Internet Explorer 6.
